Hello Friend!

Welcome to the Hargrave Homestead. I am so happy you’re here!

I’m a red-head with a love for hard-work and getting my hands dirty. I grew up in Northern Missouri on a farm with my 2 brothers, myself right between them. I was taught the value of working closely with the land through gardening, and  raising and processing our own animals.

Besides my love for farming and animals, from an early age, my mom taught me the value of knowing where and what is in the food we are eating. She had me cooking in the kitchen with her from an early age. So, naturally, making meals from scratch for my own family is important to me.

My husband and I are working to make our 10-acre homestead fruitful. As we have raised sheep, meat chickens, dogs and babies these past 8 years, we have learned to never despise meager beginnings, trust the Lord’s faithfulness, and learn from the lessons life offers, especially the hard ones.

We are always dreaming up new ways to grow, create, and live with intention on our little piece of land. And whether it is caring for your family with home-cooked meals, gardening in order to become a little more self-sustaining, or learning to raise your own meat, I hope you feel inspired and helped here!

Join me as I embrace a slower, more mindful lifestyle and savor the little things that make life truly worthwhile alongside my family.
