Simple Country Cobbler

Ingredients

Batter

  • ½ Cup Butter melted in baking pan
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • Cup milk room temperature
  • 1 egg room temperature

Filling

  • 3-4 Cups Fruit of choice, frozen or fresh
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg if using peaches

Instructions

Filling

  • Place fruit in saucepan then add sugar and spices. Cook on low heat until sugar is melted into the fruit.

Batter

  • Place butter in the baking pan, then put in the warming oven, until melted.
  • In the meantime, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in milk and egg, then pour over melted butter in the baking pan.
  • Combine filling ingredients and spread over batter. (Don't stir)
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
